The 11th edition of “MED – Mediterranean Dialogues” took place in Naples from October 15 to 17, 2025, providing a unique forum for discussion on the most pressing trends,

MED – Mediterranean Dialogues is the leading conference on the mediterranean, promoted by ISPI and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, hosted at the Royal Palace in Naples. Now in its 11th edition, this year's conference hosted over 50 panels, forums, and closed-door sessions, providing a unique space where Government leaders, members of international organizations, academia, the media, the business sector and civil society from all over the world will debate the trends, challenges and most pressing issues regarding the Mediterranean region.

This edition of the MED conference focused on analyzing and discussing regional perspectives and scenarios in the broader MENA and Mediterranean landscape, following recent events in the area, bringing together policymakers, high-level representatives, and leading experts.

Fondazione MAIRE – ETS had the honor of being invited by ISPI (Italian Institute for International Political Studies) and IOM (International Organization of Migrations) to join MED - Mediterranean Dialogues, to participate in the event and report on the findings of its research report “TRAIETTORIE. Migration flows, skills, and energy transition”, presented at the Rome Chamber of Commerce last Monday.

Our General Manager Ilaria Catastini joined as speaker the panel of the MIGRATION FORUM, held on the afternoon of October 15. “Co-creating integration solutions with the private sector” was the scope of the panel to which we brought the results of the eight studies financed by the Foundation which explore data, forecasts, best practices and models of training and integration of migrants in the energy transition sector.

“It was a bold experience. Our perspective on the energy transition sector was highly appreciated, as the sector needs to grow, at a worldwide level, in Europe and in the MENA region, in terms of number of employees, companies and competences, and migrants may be part of the solution.”

Our vision on the need for skills and competences for the energy transition comes from another research, promoted by Foundation and conducted by IPSOS, that started in 2023 and covers nowadays 14 Countries in 4 continents.

Data tell us that emerging countries are aware and recognize the importance of the energy transition and the need to improve competences through skilling and reskilling. This is pivotal to reach climate goals through mitigating climate change and creating adaptation strategies.

The sector needs people, migrants can be part of the solution.
