At business school

A JOURNEY FOR YOUTH BETWEEN HISTORY AND THE FUTURE
“A scuola d’impresa. L’Italia nei nostri musei e archivi d’impresa” [“At business school. Italy in our museums and business archives”] is an all-Italian initiative aimed at students in their final three years of secondary school, across all fields of study, to introduce new generations to business history and culture. It is the result of a collaboration between Museimpresa – the Italian Association of Business Archives and Museums, founded in 2001 on the initiative of Assolombarda and Confindustria, which brings together over 140 museums and archives of large, medium, and small Italian companies – LIUC Carlo Cattaneo University with its Heritage Hub – a research and service center focused on the relationship between businesses and their memories – and the Archivio del cinema industriale e della comunicazione d’impresa [Industrial Cinema and Business Communication Archive] – a center for the preservation of documents useful for historical research and in the field of business disciplines.
The program includes 25 hours of training each year, divided between a remote theoretical phase and an experiential in-person phase, followed by the completion of a project by the students.
Every year, the member organizations of the Museimpresa network open their doors to students and teachers, making their heritage available to them: whether it is a visit to an archive, museum, or headquarters, or a training course, young students can enjoy an experience in contact with the world of business culture and heritage, and discover the value of traditions and roots for building the future.
Fondazione MAIRE – ETS is part of the Museimpresa network and participates in the initiative. Find out more about our training program below!
2024/2025 academic year
In the second edition of “A scuola d'impresa” for the 2024/2025 academic year, Fondazione MAIRE – ETS participated together with the MAIRE group, opening the doors of the MAIRE headquarters in Milan (the Garibaldi Towers) to host class 4A of the Malpighi High School in Bologna, with a training course entitled “Yesterday, today, tomorrow: the evolution of engineering design, from technical drawings to artificial intelligence”. A day of training, from visiting historical instruments – which they were able to touch – to visiting a construction site on the other side of the world through a 3D viewer and with the help of artificial intelligence, the young students were able to discover the history of engineering design from the 1900s to today, and how this has naturally been followed by the evolution of the roles, professions, and trades required. A journey to rediscover ‘yesterday’ as the basis for building tomorrow. To find out all the details of the PCTO, click here.
At the end of the training day, the students were tasked with creating a video as a project assignment. The result? So extraordinary that it received recognition from the promoters of the entire initiative, in a single day, at LIUC University, celebrating the talent of young people. Thank you to these wonderful students and their teachers. Thanks to Museimpresa and LIUC!
See you next year!
2025/2026 academic year
Fondazione MAIRE – ETS is also taking part in the third edition of “A scuola d’impresa” for the 2025/2026 school year: in February 2026 we will once again open the doors of the MAIRE headquarters in Milan (the Garibaldi Towers) to host the 4th‑year classes of the Alessandro Volta High School in Milan.
The training day will follow the established format “Yesterday, today, tomorrow: the evolution of engineering design, from technical drawings to artificial intelligence”, with a focus on how the role of the engineer has evolved over the last century, exploring the skills required today for a proper entry into the world of work and how to align one’s talents with the challenges of the energy transition!
