The second edition of “A scuola d'impresa” is kicking off; the initiative born from a collaboration between Museimpresa, LIUC, and the Industrial Cinema and Business Communication Archive. Fondazione MAIRE together with MAIRE Group are joining in to make the Group's engineering heritage available to students.

The second edition of the project “A scuola d’impresa. L’Italia nei nostri musei e archivi d’impresa” [“At business school. Italy in our museums and business archives"] kicked off on November 21, 2024, through an opening event. the initiative was born from collaboration between Museimpresa - the Italian Association of Business Archives and Museums, founded in 2001 on the initiative of Assolombarda and Confindustria, which brings together over 140 museums and archives of large, medium, and small Italian companies - LIUC Carlo Cattaneo University with its Heritage Hub – a research and service center focused on the relationship between businesses and their memories – and the Industrial Cinema and Business Communication Archive – a center for the preservation of documents useful for historical research and in the field of business disciplines.

“A scuola d’impresa” It is an entirely Italian initiative aimed at students in their final three years of secondary school, across all fields of study. It is designed and certified as a training course and orientation program. In its first edition, for the 2023-2024 school year, the project involved 928 students, 40 schools in 12 regions, 47 teachers, and 31 museums and business archives. The second edition is dedicated to the 2024-2025 school year and once again features the members of Museimpresa, of which we are part.

The educational format consists of two phases. The first is theoretical, involving 25 hours of online training for all students in the target classes of participating institutions. The second phase is practical and experiential: each member will host one of the classes involved in the project at their company headquarters or museum for a day of training.

At the end of the second phase, each participating class will have to carry out a “project work”: a video product through which to tell the story of the company visited, unleashing their creativity. The group project will also allow students to familiarize themselves with the operational and organizational issues of a real working environment and explore the theme of preserving and enhancing corporate memory. All videos will be uploaded and available on the LIUC platform.

The aim of the initiative is to spread basic knowledge of the history of Italian business and its values, and to raise awareness of corporate museums and archives through objects, documents, inventions, and stories that bear witness to the country's enterprising spirit, evolution, and corporate culture.

The appointment with us will be in February 2025: Fondazione MAIRE – ETS will host class 4AS of Liceo Malpighi in Bologna at the MAIRE headquarters in Milan, allowing students to see firsthand the ancient work tools and some models from the MAIRE historical archive and learn about the history of the evolution of engineering design of a plant through the history of the Group.
