National Made in Italy Day 2026 will be celebrated on April 15: the Fondazione MAIRE – ETS is participating for the first time, shining a spotlight on the excellence of the MAIRE “family.” Bridging the past and the future, two engineering training courses will be offered, dedicated respectively to the historical archives of the Group’s companies and to the energy transition technologies developed by NextChem, with a focus on AI.

April 15 is the designated date for the celebration of National Made in Italy Day, promoted by the Ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy, which aims to support and promote, both nationally and internationally, our country’s manufacturing excellence and cultural heritage. This initiative is a commitment to promoting the “Made in Italy” brand, which embodies the quality, innovation, and tradition of our entrepreneurial and cultural fabric.

Every year, state, regional, and local government agencies work together to strengthen the key sectors that form the core of their operations; this collaborative effort is based on a shared vision of a sustainable and inclusive future. Any organization wishing to participate is invited to propose its own initiative or project within a theme designated for that particular year.

This year’s theme is the development of human capital and the critical importance of skills training: the younger generations are the hope and driving force of the future. Educating the younger generations means developing the new skills that will become part of—and shape—the next chapters of this country’s economic system.

Had we written this ourselves, we could not have chosen a theme more consistent with our daily activities; thus, we chose to participate not by organizing events, but by showcasing our activities for the benefit of young students.

There will be two appointments, as part of the mentoring program for the “MAIREmpower” project, focused on the “Made in Italy” excellence we have right here at MAIRE. Two days of training on engineering, past and future.

The first module traces the history of engineering design from the 20th century to the present day: drawing on materials from the Group companies’ historical archives (old tools, plant models, drawings, and microfilms), students will learn about the working methods and professional expertise of the sector, and understand how these have evolved over more than a century, leading to today’s modern practices through digitization and the use of artificial intelligence. The theoretical training will be complemented by the experience of using a 3D headset to tour a construction site.

The second session will focus on technologies for the energy transition, developed by NextChem, a MAIRE Group company, leader in green chemistry and low-emission industrial solutions. Students will explore the portfolio of low-carbon and circular technologies that make up the “Sustainable Solutions” offering, with a focus on the business line dedicated to circularity: how to transform waste into valuable new resources, recover materials through advanced industrial technologies, and reduce dependence on virgin raw materials. The day will conclude with an in-depth exploration of the connections between technologies, transformations in the world of work, and the use of Artificial Intelligence.

A concrete example of how the dialogue between technical expertise and innovation can serve as a driving force for building the skills of future generations and contributing to the country’s development.

Stay tuned to find out all the details about the courses we’ll be offering; full details will be available on the project’s dedicated landing page.
