The MAIRE Foundation at the "Night of the Archives" event during the Archivissima Festival 2023
NEWSThe sixth edition of “Archivissima” took place from 8 to 11 June 2023, exploring the imagery evoked by travel journals through a journey through the archives of all Italy’s regions; the MAIRE Foundation unveiled the MAIRE Historical Archive.
The sixth edition of “Archivissima” in 2023 demonstrated how the initiative has, over time, become a celebration for all archives: over 400 organisations, 150 new participants, 25 regional or thematic networks, 150 in-person events across the country, one programme of events broadcast entirely live from Turin and hundreds of previously unpublished digital resources – with 5,000 archival items showcased. A unique initiative for the enhancement and promotion of archives in Italy and Europe, providing the perfect setting for raising awareness of the unique materials held in the MAIRE Historical Archive.
The MAIRE Foundation has decided to take part in the event, contributing a video to “La notte degli Archivi”. The theme of this year’s edition, “Carnet de Voyage”, has inspired a host of journeys through the Group’s heritage.
The first, above all, is undoubtedly an exciting journey through time and the ages.
The second is a journey of pleasure – a holiday, an exploration and a pushing of our boundaries – thanks to pioneering projects such as roads, tunnels, hotels and seaside resorts...
And finally, a third journey: that of work, which has taken our professionalism, adaptability and cultural sensitivity all over the world, from the desert to the tropics, from the ice to the sea.
