ENERGY PATHWAYS: POWERING THE FUTURE

A TRAINING PROGRAM IN COLLABORATION WITH THE ISLAMIC CULTURAL CENTER—THE GRAND MOSQUE OF ROME AND THE FONDAZIONE GREEN INNOVATION
The energy transition is transforming the world of work and requires new skills, new professions, and an increasingly active role for the younger generations. To meet this challenge, it is essential to ensure that young people have informed access to the educational and professional opportunities that will shape the changes of the coming years.
This vision has given rise to a collaboration between the Fondazione MAIRE – ETS, the Foundation Green Innovation, and the Islamic Cultural Center of Italy – Grand Mosque of Rome: an initiative dedicated to guidance, education, and raising awareness on the topics of sustainability and the energy transition, aimed at young people, their families, and the community.
The initiative brings together training, the community, and the world of work, with the goal of guiding the younger generation in discovering the professions of the future in the energy transition sector and the energy sector as a whole, as well as the skills needed to build a more sustainable, inclusive, and innovative society.
The initiative aims to:
- raise awareness of the educational and professional opportunities offered by the evolving energy sector;
- introduce youth to the topics of sustainability, innovation, and new energy sources;
- contribute to the development of technical and transferable skills that are increasingly in demand in the workforce;
- support informed career orientation toward emerging fields of study, professions, and careers;
- engage families and communities in the educational and professional growth of the younger generation;
- promote intercultural dialogue as a driver of inclusion, participation, and social development.
THE AGREEMENT
In July 2025, the Fondazione MAIRE – ETS, the Fondazione Green Innovation, and the Islamic Cultural Center of Italy – Grand Mosque of Rome signed a collaboration agreement to promote orientation, training, and awareness-raising programs on the topics of energy and ecological transition, with the goal of offering the younger generations new opportunities for social and professional inclusion.
The three organizations are united by a shared commitment to promoting growth, inclusion, and skills development among the younger generations.
The Fondazione MAIRE - ETS will provide trainers, educational content, and career guidance activities for students, families, and the community.
The Fondazione Green Innovation will help develop informational activities and guidance sessions for high school graduates in the community on the energy transition and the career opportunities offered by the ITS Academy system in this field, with particular emphasis on the programs currently being launched, in line with the needs of local businesses.
The Islamic Cultural Center of Italy – Grand Mosque of Rome, the only Islamic organization recognized by the Italian government, will promote community and family engagement through its facilities and communication channels.

THE INITIATIVE
“Energy pathways: powering the future”: This is the name of the initiative, which aims to guide students, young adults, and families on a journey of discovery into the opportunities offered by the evolving energy sector, helping to make the knowledge and skills required by new professional scenarios related to the energy transition more accessible.
By listening to communities and fostering intercultural dialogue, the project promotes a culture of sustainability rooted in responsibility, participation, and the awareness that everyone can play an active role in building a better future. This approach also finds fertile ground in the principles of environmental protection, balance, and stewardship of resources promoted by the Islamic community and shared throughout this program.
There will be numerous events, held on a regular basis, at the headquarters of the Islamic Cultural Center of Italy – Grand Mosque of Rome. An updated list of past and planned activities will always be available on this project page and on this website.
Printed materials will be distributed at the headquarters of the Islamic Cultural Center of Italy – Grand Mosque of Rome starting in September 2026.

Training on sustainability and the energy transition
The initiative includes a series of meetings, to be held quarterly starting in October 2026, dedicated to the topics of environmental sustainability, the energy transition, the circular economy, climate change, and all related issues—culminating in a discussion of innovative technologies for decarbonization and energy carriers.
The training sessions will be conducted by the Fondazione MAIRE – ETS and will aim to help participants understand contemporary energy challenges, the role of clean energy, and the importance of responsible resource use for the well-being of present and future generations.
Skills for the Future
Training and career guidance activities will enable youth to develop the skills needed to navigate the changes currently underway. In addition to technical knowledge, special attention will be given to transferable skills—such as collaboration, creativity, problem-solving, and the ability to learn continuously—which are becoming increasingly central to the professions of the future.
Families and Communities as key players of the change
Family involvement is one of the central elements of the project. Through meetings and opportunities for discussion, the initiative aims to raise awareness of available educational and career opportunities, fostering active community participation in the development of the younger generation.
For the Fondazione MAIRE – ETS, this initiative represents a concrete opportunity to promote its mission in support of education, inclusion, and the development of the younger generations’ potential. Through career guidance activities, educational content, and in-depth discussions on the topics of sustainability and the energy transition, the Foundation helps create opportunities for growth that generate social value, foster inclusion, and expand access to knowledge.
The partnership with the Islamic Cultural Center of Italy –Grand Mosque of Rome and the Fondazione Green Innovation reflects the belief that dialogue among cultures, communities, and educational institutions is a fundamental element in building a more inclusive society and ensuring increasingly equitable access to educational and professional opportunities.
The energy transition begins with people: with their skills, their aspirations, and their ability to envision their own future.
