A tripartite agreement was signed in Rome on 10 July 2026 together with the Islamic Cultural Centre of Italy – Great Mosque of Rome and the Fondazione Green Innovation, marking a new multi-stakeholder partnership aimed at introducing young generations to the skills and careers involved in the energy transition.

On the morning of 10 July, the Islamic Cultural Centre of Italy – Great Mosque of Rome, and its Secretary-General Abdellah Redouane, welcomed a delegation of representatives from the Fondazione MAIRE – ETS and the Fondazione Green Innovation to sign a tripartite agreement marking the start of a long-term partnership aimed at promoting guidance and training programmes on energy transition and sustainability. These moments of togetherness will also convey the important message regarding the career opportunities that the sector now offers to younger generations. The initiative aims to engage students, families and local communities to foster new opportunities for personal development, career guidance and inclusion in the labour market.

For the Fondazione MAIRE – ETS, the Agreement forms part of its broader mission to train the ‘humanist engineers’ of tomorrow, and with it, the commitment to tackle educational poverty on the one hand and to foster social and labour market inclusion on the other, by raising awareness of issues relating to the environment, sustainability, the fight against climate change and technologies for the energy transition – which is seen as an opportunity. The Foundation will provide trainers, educational content and orientation activities for students of different age groups.

At the same time, expanding the network of partnerships to include new organisations active in the same sector makes it possible to broaden the range of beneficiaries of these initiatives.

The Fondazione Green Innovation - established through a partnership between MAIRE S.p.A., Acea S.p.A., Kuwait Petroleum Italia S.p.A., Orange Branded S.r.l., I.I.S. “Piazza della Resistenza, 1” Monterotondo (RM), I.I.S. “Via di Saponara 150” Roma, Università Campus Bio - Medico di Roma, Unindustria Perform S.r.l. and Associazione CNOS-FAP Lazio – is in the process of being accredited as an ITS Academy by the Lazio Region to bridge the gap between supply and demand for specialist skills, by training professionals capable of tackling the challenges of the ecological and digital transition. The Foundation will contribute to developing information activities and guidance sessions for young graduates from the community on the energy transition and on the professional opportunities offered by the ITS Academy system in this field, with particular reference to the programmes currently being activated, in line with the needs of local businesses.

The Islamic Cultural Centre of Italy – Grand Mosque of Rome: founded in 1966, the Islamic Cultural Centre of Italy has been, since 1974, the only Islamic moral body of worship officially recognised by the Italian Republic. Since 1995, the year of its inauguration, it has overseen the Grand Mosque of Rome. In addition to its religious and cultural role, it has always been active in institutional and interreligious dialogue, both nationally and internationally, as well as in partnerships with academic, diplomatic and business organisations. The Islamic Cultural Centre of Italy – Grand Mosque of Rome will support the involvement of the community and families through its spaces and communication channels.
