Climate Goals: Addendum 3, which focuses on Germany, takes us back to Germany, at the Hannover Messe
NEWSThe “German-Italian Innovation Talk”, organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany (ITKAM), took place on 21 April 2026 as part of the Hydrogen & Fuel Cells Exhibit at the Hannover Messe in Germany. The discussion focused on the findings of the new “Climate Goals” research study, Addendum 3: Focus on Germany.
“The energy transition generates a growing demand for skilled professionals worldwide. The Fondazione MAIRE’s research (now covering 17 countries on 4 continents with around 3.000 interviews) shows how the emerging countries are moving towards the energy transition with higher speed and creativity. They know that they need investments in education and look with growing attention at the efforts and strategies of their Institutions and Industries. We need to look at the energy transition as an opportunity for business and occupation and energy security, especially in times of great uncertainty as these are. The energy transition requires cooperation and co-creation, that means developing several models, not only one, adapting them at the kind of new low carbon products and processes and their specific value chains. The energy transition requires different value chains (i.e. the waste management and the chemical industry) to learn to cooperate and learn from each other, with the help of Institutions.”
This is a summary of the picture outlined by our General Director, Ilaria Catastini – and drawn from the latest paper in our “Climate Goals” research series – during the “German-Italian Innovation Talk” organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany (ITKAM) at the Hannover Messe, held in the section dedicated to hydrogen and fuel cells. A stimulating, hour-and-a-half-long discussion on sustainability, innovation and competences.
To kick off the debate Piero Vaira, Consul General in Hannover, Francesco Dell'Anna, Deputy Director Berlin Office, ITA-Italian Trade Agency and Andreas Züge, General Director, Italian branch of Hannover Fairs.
The focus on promoting innovation and sustainability through competitive partnerships has been driven by Gunther Grathwohl, Head of Division, German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy; the focus on the EU Cyber Resilience Act was led by Krasimir Simonski, Lead Consultant, CYEN.
The panel discussion that followed focused on the energy transition as a process of cooperation and co-creation between businesses; leading the dialogue, alongside our General Director (also Head of Sustainability, MAIRE Group), Corentin Cassiers, Commercial Manager, FluxSwiss Sagl, Marcus Moritz, Head of Application Engineering, SOL Group and David Sabbatani, Project Manager, FAE Technology SpA.
"Climate Goals" takes us back to Germany, following the successful presentation of the research at the Italian Embassy in Berlin on 26 March (to read the related news: Climate Goals: Addendum 3, focusing on Germany, presented in Berlin | Fondazione).
