EvolveArt, 2nd edition of the competition: the eight finalist projects have been selected
NEWSThe Evaluation Committee for the second edition of the EvolveArt art competition met in Rome, at the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art, to select the eight finalist projects that will compete for the top prize.
“EvolveArt” is the artistic competition, promoted by the Fondazione MAIRE - ETS and MAIRE Group together with the Associazione Amici della Biennale dei Licei Artistici (ABiLiArt) supported by the Rete Nazionale dei Licei Artistici (ReNaLiArt), and with the prestigious collaboration of the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (GNAMC).
The initiative aims to encourage reflection and dialogue with the younger generation on issues of sustainability. How? Through an art competition open to all students in their final three years at Italian art schools.
In 2025, the second edition of the competition got underway, with the challenge being to create a sculpture representing the theme ‘Sustainable development, energy transition and the circular economy’. The response was extraordinary, with 57 High Schools from 18 Regions across Italy taking part; 134 projects were submitted by the young artists.
The Evaluation Committee therefore met to select the 8 projects that would proceed to the next stage; the following were selected as finalists:
- Liceo Artistico Statale Fabrizio De Andrè, Tempio Pausania (SS) – FUTURO
- Liceo Artistico Statale Nolfi Apolloni, Fano (PU) – PERCENTORANE
- Liceo Artistico Statale De Ruggieri, Massafra (TA) – SKYLINE
- Liceo Artistico Statale Bramante, Roma (RM) – ZEFIRO
- Liceo Artistico Statale Bianchi-Virginio, Cuneo (CN) - MERCIS EST
- Liceo Artistico Statale Soleri-Bertoni, Saluzzo (CN) – BREAKFREE
- Liceo Artistico Statale Emilio Sereni, Afragola (NA) - EREDITÀ SOSTENIBILE
- Liceo Artistico Statale Lanza-Perugini, Foggia (FG) - CONO DI LUCE
Now, with the support of their teachers, the young artists will be able to move on to the production phase of their works (phase 3 of the competition), which will lead, in the next phase, to the awarding of the prize and the exhibition of the works: temporarily, in September, at the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art; and later, permanently, at a MAIRE Group venue.
A heartfelt thank you to all the artists who have shared their vision by submitting their projects, and to the teachers who have guided them on this journey.
Good luck, everyone – we can’t wait to see your works!
